Mosaic of Holy Mother Mary, as Archbishop in Basilica Usana in Ravenna, Italy

An iconic mosaic of 'Holy Mother' Mary at the 6th century Archiepiscopal Chapel, Ravenna, Italy, shows Mary wearing dark vestments with a white pallium with the Christian symbol of crosses.
Historical reference to the pallium links it to a portion of dress reserved only for Archbishops.
